Sociedad Benefactora y Proteccion de Animales (SBPA). The SBPA Neuter/Spay Clinic, founded in 1995, is located in the DIF building in the Ranchitos Campestre neighborhood in San Carlos. The clinic operates solely with volunteer help and is open on a semi-regular basis depending on the availability of volunteer veterinarians. The purpose of the clinic is two-fold: (1) Reduce the overpopulation of animals by offering neuter/spay services for strays, abandoned and feral animals inhabiting San Carlos and the surrounding areas: and for domestic animals belonging to low-income persons. (2) Reduce the threat of transmittable diseases by the control of the over-population of animals and through a vaccination program. SBPA NEUTER/SPAY CLINIC DOES NOT OPERATE AN ANIMAL SHELTER NOR IS IT A VETERINARY CARE FACILITY. How can you help? The SBPA needs clinic and fundraising volunteers. Clinic volunteers do everything from trapping and transporting feral animals for sterilization: to assisting in the clinic during operations; to working with fostered animals waiting for adoption. There is a growing need for these people and also for people to help with the various fund raising events. San Carlos is without doubt
the best place in the state to go and fish, with calm waters, comfortable
temperatures, modern infrastructure. You will find everything that
you need: fully equipped boats, bait, tackle, ice, Captain, deckhand,
filleting of fish, 4 hour party boats or 6 to 8 hour charters. If
you bring your own boat to fish with, you will need both a permit
for the boat and individual fishing licenses. The Federal Sport

is the best time of the year to practice sport fishing. This is
the time of year when sailfish, dolphin, marlin skyjack and sierra
are the most common catches. The deep-sea fish that is also sought
during the winter is cabrilla, pinto bass, snapper, whitefish and
yellow tail, which often reaches 40 pounds. |

International Billfish Tournament. The Ernesto Zaragoza Foundation hosts one of the longer lasting Fishing Tournaments in San Carlos. 60th Billfish July 19th, 20th, 21st 22nd 2007. Registration is Thursday, July 19th from 5-9 PM on the boardwalk in front of the Marina San Carlos Bldg. This is an individual tournament and the registration fee is $100 USD per angler. You must have boat permits and fishing licenses and those will be available at registration. There is also a daily big fish pool with winner take all. This is 3 days of fishing under IGFA rules, ironwood trophies, and lots of memories. Great dinner Sunday night for awards presentation, included with your entry. The foundation supports a number of deserving charities in the San Carlos-Guaymas area and has done so for many years they deserve your support. or crew member. Call in bill fish hook-ups to tournament control
and receive code number for each bill fish. No photos of Dorado
or Tuna. Do not call in tuna, wahoo, or dorado hook-ups. Crew members
or photographer to hold fingers in camera fame with fish in background
- if in doubt - take another - with the same finger code. At
start of 2nd and 3rd days - boats pic or crew member with fingers
indicating day number. If you have taken 20 photos on Saturday and
Sunday - ask for another camera. Cameras may be requested by Rules
Committed and replaced with a new one at any time. Drop de camera
overboard - no camera - no proof - no prize. Any contention for
prize must turn in camera at weigh station. No proof - no prize. |

You can send flowers through Flower shops in Guaymas/SC/Empalme. They do not take credit cards, but do take deposits made through Western Union, (It's cheaper). You can make a deposit to Western Union via credit card by calling 1-800-225-5227. You may send the deposit to the Banamex banks or the Elektra stores (preferred) in Guaymas. You call the shop and give them a pick-up number that you get from Western Union. They pick up the money and deliver the flowers. They either deliver the flowers to the parents house, the viewing place, or the church.
