On Christmas eve, The San
Carlos Yacht Club members and non-members decorate their boats
with lights and travel out the harbor around honeymoon island
for everyone to enjoy. They usually leave just after dark and
the trip lasts about two hours.
During the Christmas
eve boat parade special instructions are given from the boat
in the rear by radio. They must follow a path due to the variations
of the depths and the shoreline.
Also a precise speed must be maintained to keep on track with
the other boats and at the same time maintaining a safe distance
from the boat ahead. And the wind is THE major factor. The right
conditions must prevail before the Parade Begins. |
